Résumé
Face aux grandes dysmorphoses maxillo-mandibulo-craniennes, l'orthodontie atteint ses limites. La chirurgie maxillo-faciale trouve ici son indication. La collaboration entre le chirurgien et l'orthodontiste doit être parfaite. Elle permet d'élaborer une stratégie de traitement commune. L'acte chirurgical venant s'intégrer dans ce protocole, bénéficie de la préparation des arcades, ce qui le rend plus facile à réaliser. Les résultats esthétiques et fonctionnels sont alors d'une bien meilleure qualité.
