Résumé
L'analyse de TWEED et en particulier sa formule, bien qu'étant toujours d'actualité, ne sont plus suffisantes pour appréhender un problème orthodontique. L'analyse cranio-faciale et l'analyse de l'espace total permettent d'évaluer l'équilibre facial et de quantifier la difficulté du traitement en révélant les zones à risques. La technique de TWEED-MERRIFIELD est le complément thérapeutique de la stratégie de traitement mise en œuvre.
Abstract
Although the TWEED analysis and specially its formula are still currently used, they are not sufficient to diagnose an orthodontic problem. The cranio-facial analysis and the total space analysis allow to evaluate the facial balance, to quantify the treatment difficulty by showing the risks areas. The TWEED-MERRIFIELD appliance is the therapeutic support of this treatment strategy.
