Résumé

Le groupe incisivo-canin surtout maxillaire, joue un rôle déterminant dans l’esthétique du sourire et dans la manducation.

Les troubles morphologiques les plus fréquents, agénésies, nanismes ou riziformités de 12-22, vont perturber le guide antérieur et pénaliser le sourire (dents « monstrueuses », diastèmes/chevauchements, dysharmonie de taille avec les dents voisines).

Le rétablissement d’un groupe incisivo-canin supérieur satisfaisant exige avant tout les harmonisations de tailles entre incisives latérales et centrales et entre groupe inférieur et groupe supérieur. L’étude des indices esthétique (L/C : latérales/centrales) et fonctionnel (I/S : groupe inférieur/groupe supérieur) permet de guider les choix et de quantifier les gestes thérapeutiques (apport de composites, stripping, coiffe céramique, prothèse unitaire implanto-portée...).

Abstract

The canine-incisor area of the maxilla in particular, plays a determining role in the esthetics of the smile and in the act of eating.

The most frequent morphological problems, ageneses, stunted teeth or regional odontodysplasia of 12-22, are going to disturb the anterior guidance and damage the smile (fang like incisors, diastemas/accessory cusps, disharmony in tooth size in relation to neighboring teeth).

Achieving a satisfactory result in restoring the upper canine-incisor area requires first of all establishing harmony between the lateral and central incisors and between the maxillary and mandibular canine-incisor area. The study of the esthetic indices (L/C: lateral/central) and functional indices (I/S: inferior group/superior group) makes it possible to choose and to quantify therapeutic procedures (using composites, stripping, ceramic caps, single implant-supported prosthesis...).
