Résumé

La reconstruction occlusale liée à nos thérapeutiques orthodontiques doit tenir compte d'une position mandibulaire de référence. Les travaux d'Abjean ont montré que la position physiologique de repos mandibulaire est reproductible. Elle est donc une référence fiable, pour l'étape diagnostique d'une part, pour les différentes phases thérapeutiques d'autre part, à partir de laquelle nous pouvons contrôler la situation spatiale de l'occlusion nouvellement construite et affiner la stabilité occlusale de nos traitements.

Abstract

Occlusal reconstruction related to our orthodontic treatments must take into consideration a mandibular position of reference. The studies of Abjean have shown that the physiologic rest position is reproducable. It is therefore a viable reference for the diagnosis, on the one hand, and for the various therapeutic phases, on the other, from which we may verify the spatial situation of the new occlusion we have constructed and refine the occlusal stability of our treatments.
