Abstract
White spot decalcifications or caries occurring around and under orthodontic attachments can be greatly reduced by applying topical fluorides. However, these procedures, especially when a surface tension depressant and wetting agent is added up, have been supposed to negatively affect the etch pattern on enamel surfaces, resulting in reduced bond of resin.
In this clinical study, the Siliglycol and amine fluoride containing dentifrice has not shown any significant interference with the tensile bond strength of brackets.
