Résumé

L 'observation des trajectoires d'ouverture et de fermeture mandibulaire permet de diagnostiquer les déviations positionnelles. La période de croissance autorise un recentrage orthopédique de la mandibule et le plus souvent, la suppression des désordres cranio-mandibulaires associés. Le traitement orthodontique réoriente la croissance verticale alvéolaire et permet de pérenniser la nouvelle position mandibulaire thérapeutique.

Abstract

The observation of the opening and closing mandibular paths enables to diagnose positional deviations. The growth period allows an orthopedic recentering of the mandible and most often the elimination of associated craniomandibular disorders. The orthodontic treatment redirects vertical alveolar growth, thus permitting to perpetuate the new therapeutic mandibular position.
