Résumé

L'asthme est une inflammation bronchique chronique à éosinophiles entraînant des spasmes bronchiques et se traduisant par une toux ou des sifflements, associés à une hyperactivité bronchique. La rhinite allergique est une inflammation à éosinophiles de la muqueuse nasale, responsable de libération d'histamine, se manifestant par une rhinorrhée ou des éternuements.

La désensibilisation, mais surtout l'éviction rigoureuse des allergènes permettent de diminuer, voire d'éliminer l'inflammation. L'éviction des allergènes responsables reste cependant difficile et un traitement médicamenteux symptomatique composé d'anti-inflammatoires de type corticoïdes et/ou d'anti-histaminiques ou de broncho-dilatateurs est souvent prescrit.

Abstract

Asthma is a chronic bronchial eosinophilic infection, which causes bronchial spasms and is characterized by coughing or sniffling, stemming from hyperactivity of the bronchial cords. Allergic rhinitis is an eosinophilic inflammation of the nasal mucosa, which triggers the release of histamines, which, in turn, stimulate rhinorrhea and sneezing.

Desensitization, and, even better, rigorous suppression of allergens, can diminish and, perhaps, eliminate the inflammation. But removal of the implicated allergens is frequently a difficult task and symptomatic medical treatment with anti-inflammatories of the corticoid type and/or anti-histamines or bronchodilators is often prescribed.
