Abstract
Impacted maxillary canines, which occur at prevalence rate of 3%, constitute a potential danger for adjacent teeth. In this paper we discuss two clinical surgical and orthodontic protocols, open and tunnel traction, that may be required to bring them from their palatal or buccal sites into their correct positions in the dental arch. Because both these techniques can deliver satisfactory results, it is important to discuss their respective advantages and disadvantages.
