Reevaluation of the traditional concept of normal occlusion
Abstract
The author criticizes the old Angle's concept which describes the development of normal occlusion and, to avoid the problem of crowding, argues for the recognition of the "pseudo-Class I" maloccusion. This new concept aims to exploit the leeway space and the faculty of rotation of the upper first molar to the advantage of lower arch alignment.
