Résumé

L’objectif de cet article est de proposer une démarche simplifiée et raisonnée qui doit devenir un automatisme lors de tout examen buccal. Cet examen a pour principal but de répondre à la question suivante : existe-t-il ou non des foyers infectieux nécessitant une prise en charge parodontale ? Il est basé sur l’entretien médical (anamnèse), l’examen clinique, l’examen radiologique. Le sondage dépistage à l’aide d’une sonde parodontale est l’examen prioritaire, systématique et incontournable.

Cet examen est accessible aux orthodontistes comme aux odontologistes. Il permettra d’effectuer le diagnostic, d’engager la prise en charge parodontale du patient ou d’adresser au spécialiste de façon plus pertinente.

Il devra être réitéré avant le traitement orthodontique ou avant toute réhabilitation fonctionnelle pour s’assurer de la stabilité parodontale.

Abstract

The aim of this article is to propose a simplified and rational approach that should be automatic in every oral examination. The principal objective is to answer the following question: Are there any infectious sites requiring periodontal care? This examination is based on the medical interview, clinical and radiographic examination. The pocket’s screening with a periodontal probe is the priority. This examination is essential and systematic.

This examination is open to orthodontists and dentists. It will allow the diagnosis and periodontal treatment of the patient or address him to the specialist in the most relevant way.

It should be repeated before an orthodontic treatment or before all functional rehabilitation to ensure the periodontal stability.
