Pour l'auteur, la finalité du traitement de classe III est la réhabilitation de la fonction princeps de l'appareil manducateur : la mastication physiologique. L'admettre – ce qui n'est pas une évidence – implique d'atteindre les objectifs occlusaux qu'impose cette fonction au traitement.

Abstract

For this author the goal of Class III treatment is the rehabilitation of the primary function of the stomatological apparatus: physiological mastication. This not so evident conclusion requires the attainment in treatment of certain occlusal objectives that are required for the proper operation of this function.

Restoring physiological functioning of the occlusion is the essential objective that all clinicians should strive to attain in virtually all of the cases they treat; such an outcome provides a spectacular and stable conclusion to the management of Class III malocclusions. Early orthopedic treatment is the best way to reach this goal.
