L'orthodontiste explore dans le domaine cranio-facial les capacités du squelette à se transformer sous la contrainte de forces mécaniques délivrées par des appareils. Il est confronté au problème fondamental qu'est la compréhension de la morphogenèse et doit intégrer la biodynamique cranio-faciale comme élément interactif entre le génome et les fonctions.

Abstract

The orthodontist explores, in the craniofacial field, the abilities of the skeleton to transform itself under the constraint of mechanical forces delivered by appliances. He is confronted with the basic problem of the comprehension of morphogenesis, being compelled to integrate craniofacial biodynamics as an interactive element between the genome and the functions.
